NEW RELEASE -- OPERATION SAVE THE INNOCENT by Tony Ruggiero
Book II of the Declassified Files of The Team of Darkness

John Reese thought it was all over—except for the nightmares of the Team of Darkness.

From deep in the Pentagon, an order surfaces:  former Navy Commander John Reese is suddenly recalled.  It seems that General Stone captured two vampires and brought them secretly back to the United States. Now, they've been kidnapped, --right out of the secure holding facility designed to hold the Team of Darkness vampires. If these two young vampires fall into the wrong hands, they could jeopardize U. S. national security.

Reese becomes the hunter, but a hunter under scrutiny by a government entity known as "The Agency." If Reese doesn't hunt down the vampires, he just might spend the rest of his life in a military prison. But Reese knows something that they don't. Only one group could have kidnapped the pair--the very group that he'd sworn he killed a year before: General Stone’s vampire kill squad—code name: Team of Darkness.

Should Reese admit he lied? That he liberated General Stone’s vampire team instead of killing it? Or should he try to get to the Team first and somehow diffuse the situation? As Reese searches for these answers he meets a mysterious woman. The search for answers takes torturous twists and turns, as does the tenuous relationship between Reese and Christina. It leaves one to wonder--do Reese and Christina have their own secrets that seek to reveal yet another mystery?

REVIEWS FOR TONY RUGGIERO'S PREVIOUS
WITH THE TEAM OF DARKNESS BOOKS.

“…TEAM OF DARKNESS will mesmerize you with its realism and fluid writing style. "

Michael L. Thal, Scribes World Reviews

"Tony Ruggiero delivers an entertaining and surprisingly compelling novel. I was especially impressed with his handling of military details. He gives the reader enough information without overdoing the technicalities. I found myself really wanting to find out what happens in the next chapter. "
   ~Paukla Sahraoul, Horror World Review

“…fast paced, filled with exciting mind-boggling concepts, while at the same time engaging our emotions with very human and very believable characters. All in all this is a very good read for lovers of mind-expanding Science Fiction.”

~Marge Robbins, SimeGen Book Reviews

Nina Munteanu's Lower Mainland Book tour Continues

Almost two weeks ago, I fulfilled a fantasy by appearing at the Strawberry Hill Chapters store in Surrey, British Columbia to sign my book, DARWIN'S PARADOX. Once or twice a month I used to meet three other friends who'd formed a writer's group we'd called Critical Ms. Starbucks coffee in hand, I met them in the small alcove with comfortable chairs to trade industry stories, critique each other's work, and dream of having my book on the shelf behind us (it was the science fiction section of the store). Last week I realized that dream and more! I even had a surprise visit from Brian Hades of Edge Publishing, the parent company of Dragon Moon Press—he was just passing through town… Sure, Brian! He'd found these cool see-into-the-future glasses at a Vancouver oddity shop and had thought of me… funny that…But don't I look intelligent in them?...

My signing at the Granville & Broadway Chapters store in Vancouver the following week was yet another adventure. As always, I met very interesting patrons, including two Romanian ladies, and a budding novelist. I practiced my French with an elegant lady from France. Then Stephen Saint Laurent, Prince George videographer, stopped by and gave me an impromptu interview. No sooner had he left when a commotion outside brought me and patrons of the store, spilling out to watch as a student rally of over 500 protesters passed by in a flourish of banner waving and boisterous shouting. The police-escorted demonstrators waved "Free Tibet from China" signs and shouted slogans. Tibetan supporters from Vernon to Victoria were rallying against the violence in the tumultuous Chinese-controlled region; they marched from the art gallery to the Chinese consulate, where they chanted, burned Chinese flags and acted out scenes of violence.

I will finalize my local book tour with a signing at Blackbond Books in Richmond and a Chapters store in Burnaby. Then I'll be flying to Paris, France where… I think Darwin will take a holiday with me. Truthfully, I am travelling there (and possibly to Berlin) to research my next book, a historical fantasy about a young girl in medieval Prussia who discovers that she can alter history.

Kirk Dougal, co-author of FIRESTORM OF DRAGONS, upcoming, won the Chairman’s Award for a magazine I started at Brown Publishing. Kirk is still the editor and general manager of the magazine. Kirk's in the middle, with Roy Brown, President of Brown Publishing on the left. Sci Fi fans will be quick to recognize Clancy Brown on the right. In addition to being CEO, Clancy is quite a well-known actor in science fiction movies.
