NEW RELEASE -- SWORD MASTERS by Selina Rosen

SELINA SAYS:

Sword Masters leaped into my head and I wrote the entire book in 41 days. During that time I was still working a day job, built an elaborate set for a local theater group, put in the Spring crop, taught six Torah classes, took care of all the live stock, cooked meals and cleaned house.

I don't remember sleeping, eating or talking to my family. That's how I work I get an idea. I write part of it down and sometimes it will just lay there. I had started a version of Sword Masters  about 8 years before that and it just sat there then I woke up one day in February and realized what was wrong with it and then I just wrote the whole thing because I couldn't stop.
For the background of my main character Tarius, I unapologetically mined the life of my dear friend Eva Gotlib who died three days ago -in fact I went to her funeral yesterday- she was a holocaust survivor.
Sword Masters is all about what it means to really love, and to actually understand what true loyalty means. Mostly it's about how dangerous it is when people believe that they are right and everyone else is wrong. We forget that the holocaust -and other such historical; recent and distant past, events- couldn't have happened if they weren't driven by religious hatred. Simply put it becomes the psychology of... if you don't believe as we do you must be killed.
"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction." -- Blaise Pascal

WHAT'S SWORD MASTERS ABOUT?

The Jethrik are in trouble. They're fighting a war they can't win even if they don't know it. Their savior comes in the guise of a strange foreigner who is the son of one of their greatest heroes.

Tarius the Black will lead the Jathrik army to victory and save their king, so what secret could he harbor that would be dark enough for them to order his death?  Then having escaped execution and cheated death at their hands, what could ever bring Tarius back to the Jethrik?

REVIEWS FOR SELINA ROSEN

“Selina Rosen’s “just like” nothing else. She’s a creative soul, a builder in wood and stone and words. Out of this absolute wealth of experience come truly outrageous ideas and a way of looking at the universe with attitude with a capital ‘A’. She’s one in a million!”
~C. J. Cherryh

“She’s a great gal and a damn good storyteller.”
~Michael Sheard

"STRANGE ROBBY is a sharp, satisfying page-turner, a thrilling ride like a cross between N.Y.P.D. BLUE and THE X-FILES. Be smart: Buy your ticket -now.-"  ~Esther M. Friesner

I guess I will have to give students some leeway if they ever use this excuse. I also hope the reviewers are much more friendly than my dog :).
